She has been singing since the age of eight and her musical influences are many and span the musical spectrums of R&B, rock, soul, funk, jazz and gospel. Among the industry giants that have given her inspiration are Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Tina Marie, Prince and Rick James. Born in the Florida panhandle, Monet is the daughter of a Baptist preacher and a spirit-filled mother who recognized her exceptional vocal ability at an early age and motivated her daughter to sing. She won beauty pageants singing and playing the flute. While attending high school she was in the music guild and in college she was a cheerleader and a member of the college choir. Claudette attended Florida State University and it is at this juncture in her life that her musical career took wings. Her musical legacy began when she performed with the groups Simply Divine, Poise and SHE. Early on she was also lead singer for the North Florida Sentinels and background vocalist for recording artists. After those musical experiences, She was a successful print model with appearances in magazines as Sophisticates, Salon Profile and Shop Talk.
